Pets should not be allowed to roam freely in your vehicle while you're driving, and should never be allowed in your lap, this causes many distractions, that could end badly. Seat belt them in if you or your pet doesn't like the idea of using a crate while you're traveling, even if it's just to the local gas station, ice cream shop, etc.
By having your pet seat belted in, he or she won't be able to fall off the seat and land on the floor on those curves you may take a little too fast, or if you would end up in an accident while your pet is in your vehicle, having them seat belted in, stops them from being able to fly through a window and getting badly hurt (or worse), it also prevents a scared pet from running off after a car accident. I know personally I've seen many news stations report this a lot lately, and then the owners can't find their beloved pet, because he/she got scared and bolted off into the nearby woods, or across a very busy road and even down the road, when they're scared they're not thinking straight, just like humans. So have the peace of mind that your pet will be safe during your travels because like you, they're seat belted in.
This and any pet seat belt, is not recommended to use with a collar, due to the choking hazard, it is best to use with a harness. It is very simple to use, You take the clasp end and snap it on the harness just like a leash, the other end slides right into the seat belt lock just like your normal vehicle seat belt would, then you can adjust the strap, if you leave some give in it, your dog (or cat) will be able to maneuver around the seat to find a more comfortable spot and not confined to an uncomfortable position, but as long as you don't leave too much slack he/she won't be able to hop off the seat, which means they won't fall off the seat onto the floor.
These Seat Belts come with a heavy duty Zinc Alloy clasp, that is sewed on very well! These are made of good quality nylon as well. I've had different one in the past, that I got for free (just paid shipping) and let me tell you, it wasn't worth it's weight in material! I used it twice, not in any accidents, Bubby didn't pull while it was on him, he sat in his seat , and sat still. Second use, I went to un-clip the clasp from his harness to put his leash back on (I leave the seat belts in the vehicle so I always have them) and the clasp came off in my hand, all the threads came out where the clasp was sewn onto the nylon strap! I was one very unhappy camper! If we would of been in an accident, that particular seat belt would not of saved Bubby!
Also the buckle is made of Zinc Alloy as well, It is heavy duty, and made well, sewn on very well as well. It locks into the seat belt lock without any problems, and I pulled many times and it was locked into place very well. The size of the buckle is 0.83 inches wide, which fits most standard vehicles (check yours to be certain)
The stitching is well done, I see these lasting a very long time. They appear to be very durable.
Easily adjustable to shorten the strap if you want, It is best to have it shortened some what, but I don't suggest shortening it so much that the dog(or cat) is unable to move in their seat at all. They adjust from 20.5 to 33 inches
Overall I am very happy with this product, when you purchase it you are getting 2 seat belts.

Here is a short video on it being used - I was not in our actual vehicle as it is broken down and right now the back seats are removed, so I used our old van seat that I put on my front porch for the kids and dogs to use as a couch, I also used Bubby's Old harness (which is why it is missing 1 clip) I also didn't want to do it in the van, and have him think he was getting to go for a ride, and not go on one, that would of just been mean :) I did receive this product for free in exchange for my honest review
